Bout Committee (BC) membership allows a user to create tournaments on AskFRED. Before you create a new tournament, we have some special approval processes in place in order to prevent bad behavior on the platform (spamming, fraud, abuse, etc).
If you are using a legacy account that was migrated over from Old AskFRED, and you had BC access there, you should have full BC access now! No need to redo the process.
To get started, click on the "Bout Committee" link in the main navigation. On this page, you should have a link to create either a new tournament or a new clinic. If not, you can also click on the "BC Tournaments" sub-navigation link and click the "Add New" link as well.
You'll be taken to an area where you can manage your newly created tournament or clinic. Your job now is to make sure you understand the interface, create your events, and prepare the tournament or clinic to be made public. Once it's ready to go, its time to request or set up BC access so that you can start taking registrations.
From here, you have two options:
Connect or create a Stripe account in order to gain full BC access immediately upon a successful fully operational Stripe account connection being completed. We suggest you take this path if you want to accept payments online or think you might want to do so eventually. You can read more about this process here.
Request a review from support and we will manually approve your account for BC access. We suggest you take this path if you think you will not want to take payments online any time soon or ever. You can read more about this process here.
Bout Committee memberships are reviewed regularly for bad behavior on the platform and can be revoked at any time if we suspect issues.
For those familiar with how Bout Committee payments worked on the Old AskFRED platform, we suggest you read the Stripe help document here to learn the differences, as things have changed substantially (for example, payouts happen soon after a registration is paid for via a bank transfer, instead of mailed checks after events are complete).
