The workflow here is straightforward:
Create a Tournament through the standard workflow in your “Bout Committee” area.
Get this Tournament as set up as you can. When reviewing a Bout Committee user, we’re looking for as much detail as we can to ensure you know the way around AskFRED and are ready to go setting up successful Tournaments.
Once you’re ready, reach out to support using the chat bubble in the lower-right of most pages, or via this help center.
We’ll get back to you as soon as possible - our target is 2 business days. If there are any issues, we’ll have a conversation to get those resolved.
Once you’re approved, you should be able to make any number of tournaments you want, as well as making these tournaments public.
Any account manually approved in this way will be regularly reviewed to ensure a high quality of platform participation. Additionally, users will be able to report tournaments they think might be fraudulent or breaking the terms of service of AskFRED.
Tips and Callouts
We've reviewed many accounts and at this point have seen a number of common issues that we're going to cover below. Before submitting your tournament please watch out for the following:
Venue timezone. Many people leave the default Eastern Time even when their venue is located in another timezone. Timezones impact what and how we display registration times to users and when we turn registrations off. They are not just for display only. Please double-check!
Events. Your tournament must have events for us to approve it! Make sure you've added at least one event to contest. Ideally, please add all the ones you intend to hold. When reviewing, your goal should be to submit a tournament that you would feel comfortable making live immediately.
The More Info section. Many people skip this, but while it is not a requirement to be present, we strongly encourage people to fill this out. It helps reduce the number of questions you'll get about the tournament if you can answer them ahead of time here. Additionally we consider More Info required if your event has an unusual configuration, such as a free event or an event restricted to a specific club or division.
