Sometimes you'll find that you were registered for an event unexpectedly - one you didn't know about or didn't intend on attending. This is because any user on AskFRED can register any other user for events by default. For example, a parent can register their child.

If you want to get email notifications when you are registered by someone else, you simply need to create an AskFRED account and enter your valid USFA Membership number. This should help reduce the surprise, and give you the ability to remove your registration if you want to.

If you want to prevent anyone from registering you to any tournaments, you can do enable a "registration lock" by taking the following steps:

  • Register for (if necessary) and log in to your account.

  • Add a valid USFA Membership number if necessary.

  • Visit your "Settings" page.

  • Check the "Registration Lock" checkbox and click "Save".

This should prevent anyone from registering you from any other account except for your own.

If you are being registered repeatedly by someone and you want this to stop, please reach out to AskFRED support.
