Most of the basic features for the Fencing Referee app are self-evident, but this help article is here to give you a few insights into how parts of the app work that might not be as obvious.
Long Pressing
We support long pressing on a number of elements on the main timer. We call them out here because these can be easily missed. Specifically:
If you long press one of the score numbers themselves, that will reset only that score to 0.
If you long press the timer, it will enter into configuration mode allowing you to add/subtract time from the timer.
Long pressing will dismiss the physical card shown by the "Show Physical Cards" feature.
Stop Timer Touch Sensitivity
We've given users control in how easy/hard they want it to be to start and stop the timer. A shorter number here makes it very easy to stop the timer, which referees sometimes find troublesome due to accidentally stopping if their hand brushes the screen accidentally. A longer number helps prevent this issue, but also makes it harder to stop the timer if you want to stop it. It also means the timer is running for a slight bit longer before it stops successfully. We've provided a slider so that each user can adjust this setting to where they see fit and find most convenient.
